Trainspotting

Best Scottish/British film ever made IMO.

Best Scene ?

And

Best Actor/Actress?

Re: Trainspotting

Coincidentally I watched it last night mate, was reading about the 20th anniversary of it and found it on my Sky box.

Absolutely brilliant, yet to be confirmed Trainspotting 2 set for filming in early 2017.

Sound track superb too.

Re: Trainspotting

Best scene - Right at the end when they are in the hotel room and Renton gets up, takes a drink of water and takes the bag from under Begbie's arm, the first time i watched it when 'Born Slippy' kicks in I got goosebumps panicking that he may be caught,  I've seen it a hundred times since and I still get goosebumps.

Best actor - I think Johnny Lee Miller (and his character ) were head and shoulders above the rest,  Sickboy got the best lines IMO.

Re: Trainspotting

Begbie's story. Or at least Begbie's version of it. Immense. Not as good as the book mind you.

Robert Carlyle is tremendous.

Re: Trainspotting

The best scene for me is the last one,it's extraordinary. The cinematography is superb.

The bit where Begbie blows the smoke into Renton's face in provocation is the catalyst for Rents to think 'fuck this'!!

Another metaphorical symbol that i thought was clever was him washing out the buckfast out the glass and rinsing out the glass and drinking the clean, pure water. It's almost like he had decided to cleanse himself of the poison that had infiltrated his liife and wanted a clean break.

The tension as he tries to prise the holdall from Begbie's clutches still gets me everytime, and with 'Born Slippy' kicking in the whole scene is just so iconic.

Ewan McGregor's performance for me is superb. He looks so emaciated and skinny in it.Looks like a proper junkie but still retains an air of cool about him despite all this.

Buckfast is probably more pure than the tap water in London 😀

This is a truly great synopsis and take on a classic of Scottish cinema.
