The 12th game of Round 1 witnessed a thumping win registered for one of the heroes of the Nou Camp KEVIN GALLACHER who easily won the tie and will now as a consequence progress through to the 2nd round as a seed.Joining him in the 2nd Round also (albeit unseeded) will be former maverick striker PADDY CONNOLLY who finished runner-up.Eliminated from the tournament at the first hurdle are Scott Crabbe and former 60's cult hero Billy Hainey, who sadly registered no votes (WHERE WERE YOU MR HAINEY?EH EH?).

Loved both Kjell and McSwegan, hope they both go through to the next round.
But my vote goes to Kjell.
Offline
Kjell, absolute class
Nothing much to choose between Knell and Gary so McSwegan edges it by virtue of one more goal from exactly the same number of appearances
Offline
McSwegan scored most of those in the league of Fun. Big Kjell scored them everywhere
Big Kjell by miles. Absolute hero. Probably my fav striker other than Luggy

All the others provided great moments - Mcswegan with the last minute goal v Celtic, de Vries at Hampden in 2008, Victor's respect of Goram, but Kjell is my choice.

Kjell he was fucking outstanding , i loved him to bits. Great center forward , a handful.
McSwegan scored some of his in the fun league.

All 4 of them very good players.
Kjell the best of the 4 and my All-Time favourite Dundee Utd player i think if push comes to shove. But he's romping it here so i will vote on this occasion tactically (i'll vote for Kjell when it matters and he needs my vote).
Out of the other 3....
Victor i didn't see much of in the flesh but when i did see him he looked a (technically) outstanding player.Great first touch, very good passer, nice bit of acceleration when he had the ball, and could chip in with goals (normally good goals too).He also however struck me as being a bit lazy though and never quite looked like he was giving of his absolute best (kinda like Ciftci).I remember one night he got 'angry' v Celtic at Tannadice after a heavy challenge on him and he then proceeded to rip their defence apart and scored 2 beauties (though iirc we lost 2-3).A very good player who unfortunately we never quite seen the best of or for long enough.
Mark de Vries was a beast of a player and i remember him being fucking excellent at Hearts (scored 4 on his debut for them v Hibs).Unfortunately by the time we got him his career was winding down and those massive knees had had one or two injuries too many when down at Leicester with Levein. He did still do a job for us though despite this and the goal he scored at Hampden in the Final 'we shant talk of again' was utterly tremendous and posibly the best 'team goal' i've ever saw Utd score when you take into account the amount of passes, the movement, the finish, the occasion, who it was against and at what venue etc etc.
My vote though goes to Gary McSwegan. He was a bit of a coup for us at the time and i was very excited when i read we'd signed him and Owen Coyle in a double deal.Thought the title was in the bag. After 'Sweggy's debut at Boghead i wondered if we'd signed a haddy after we suffered a humiliating defeat to Dumbarton.
Thankfully my fears were soon allayed as he done what he was bought to do and scored a hatful of goals to bring us back into the title race and of course eventually promoted. He then kicked on and also scored in the Premier League some inportant goals, though he did normally have to play 4th fiddle to Kjell,Robbie and Andy McL as wee Tommy played 3 upfront with pace. His last minute goal v Celtic one of my favourite ever Utd goals,And his winner at Ibrox in Extra Time of a League Cup match was one of the best Utd goals i've ever seen...World Class and i mean that.Goram never even dived for it...he knew where it was going the second it left Sweggy's boot.
Outstanding.

Mark de Vries scored the best cup final goal ever.
But he's not big Kjell. Legend

Has to be Kjell. Really like McSweagan too and they have very similar scoring record but McSwegan scored a lot of them in 95/96 in the 1st Division. Loved Victor, a total maverick, was never going to settle in Scotland though.

Kjell is pissing it so my vote goes to McSwegan, he was part of a fantastic front line that were destroying teams.
It was a pity he left just days after Billy Dodds signed, Kjell,Dodds & himself played one maybe two games together and looked the real deal.
One of my favourite memories involving Victor Ferreyra did not really include the man himself. I was on holiday in Ibiza with my parents in 1992, walking down the road wearing my United shirt I heard a group of lads (late twenties) signing "oh Victor, oh Victor" laughing away I gave them a raised arm as a sign of mutual respect, I went from walking down the road like a normal 14 year old to swaggering like i was Liam Gallagher, good times.
