Re: It's Mixu

I like Mixu.

Confident it'll still be Hughes though.

Re: It's Mixu

He wouldn't be my choice however he done an excellent job at Kilmarnock.

Re: It's Mixu

I'm warming to him. Remember being very impressed by his Killie side in one particular game at Tannadice. (I think it was Stuart Armstrong's debut, incidentally)

Found this interesting article on The Courier site;

Shite decision IMO but will back him 100%.

Re: It's Mixu

I don't think there is much between the 3 managers.  I'd have been happy with any of them. At least no one can bother about Rangers, Celtic and Sevco connections.

Found this old clip of Mixu scoring against Deadco.

Re: It's Mixu

Massively disappointed with this appointment but we must go with it and back him and the team 100%

Hope he has a good defensive coach with him.....

Re: It's Mixu

Looking at his record, he's managed a positive GD in club football with the exception of Hibs (-6) and neutral with Finland. If we score more than we concede, we'll be just fine.

Re: It's Mixu

BBC saying it's Mixu as well.

Decent record at Killie and did no too bad at Hibs when that job was a poison chalice.

Can only get behind him and keep our fingers crossed.

Think it's gonna be tough tho

Re: It's Mixu

No  really sure what to think tbh. I like him, and will back him to the hilt, although I'm no a fan of the ex player being the manager.

I warmed to the thought of Wright, then I warmed to thought o Hughes, so it comes as a bit o a jolt when he apparently ruled himself oot.

Loads of good memories o the big man so here's hoping he can do the biz.

Welcome back Mixu (if you happen to be the chosen one)

I remember going to a Rangers game around that time and the ball boys were allowed to hand out a few footballs to the United crowd before the game or at half time. I remember going to this game, but can't remember if it was the one were one of the ball boys gave me a football or not, I was standing with my dad in the old little area between the dugout and tunnel below the hospitality boxes.

Could it be a young Sieb that was given a football by a young Hunted?

Re: It's Mixu

very surprised he has been chosen as he has been available for wks , anyway only positive is he is Def. drinking in the last chance saloon so I'm sure he will put everything into the gig , because if he doesn't he is finished In top flight football

Re: It's Mixu

I'm not sure he has been chosen.

All journos just been told to leave Tannadice, nothing being sorted tonight....

Re: It's Mixu

I would have SERIOUS reservations about bringing in anyone who previously "ruled themselves out".  Not keen on this.

Reading between the lines mate, I'd say he went public on supposedly ruling himself out because he was sure we were after someone else. Saving face type of thing.

Re: It's Mixu

That'd be fine with me.  Tell you what mate, every day for 2 weeks I've been waking up to threads about done deals... I'm a nervous wreck.

For my sake, hope they get something wrapped up soon although if I'm honest, not chuffed at a single candidate we've pursued through this.  Think we are missing a trick.

Maybe we are keeping Hughes for when Mixu leaves. Like Hibs did

Re: It's Mixu

Re: It's Mixu

Dinnae see how it's a fuck up. Club took time to try and speak to folk. Interviewed a few bodies and took their time to get the man they wanted. It's not the clubs fault that St Johnstone would let Wright speak to us or ICT took ages to give permission.
