Who's our 2nd choice?

If we fail to appoint Wright?

I read this morning that we've held talks with Mixu, McCall, and Irvine (he's since ruled himself out I'm led to believe)

Who will get the nod?

Toss of a coin for me.

Re: Who's our 2nd choice?

One name I haven't heard mentioned is Stuart Baxter.

Is a good age, has played for the club, has a wealth of experience and has won things.

Would be an interesting appointment imo.

Mate, I'm gonna be completely honest here. Although I've heard of Stuart Baxter, I don't have a fkn clue who he actually is, what he looks like, or what he's achieved.

Re: Who's our 2nd choice?

McCall.  He is my first choice anyway.

Wright would be second choice but not by a landslide.

Re: Who's our 2nd choice?

If it's not Wright I wouldn't be too disappointed with Mixu or McCall tbh.

Yeah yeah Industrial Estate

Some info about him for everyone....

Stuart Baxter -
Born - 16th August 1953 (Age 62),

Has managed (and won cups in leagues) in sweden with both Helsinborgs and AIK,in Japan with Sanfrecce Hiroshima, and in South Africa with Kaizer Chiefs (where he won the lot). And in Denmark with Orebro.

He has managed both the Finnish national team and the South African. And was also England U-19 Head Coach.

He is currently out of work after last season being with Gencerlibigi in Turkey where he was sacked after just 2 matches in charge (ludicrous).

I find him an intriguing individual tbh and a more illuminating candidate than the usual names dredged up.

A rare interview in English.

Most of the interviews on Youtube are in Swedish.

And another couple ...i want this guy interviewed, very impressive guy imo.

No half.

Wee JYM had him here as a youngster but he never made the breakthrough.

Still, there's a wee connection there that might make him interested.Don't ask don't get.

Re: Who's our 2nd choice?

I'm hovering between candidates in a hopeful but confused manner.

I'm nae expert, just a fan who sees his job as vocally supporting when I get there.

I don't fucking know who to wish for here. Don't fancy Mixu, like the idea of McCall, Hughes and had a session on the drink looking up Steve Evans and having liked what I saw, woke up thinking he won't get close to an interview.

Liked Tek's researched guys credentials fae I predict a riot and didn't like hearing his voice.

Alan Irvine I checked out wondering who he is as a manager a first article is "who is Alan Irvine? " only to state he isnae and his name is actually fucking James. I gave up at this point to post my honest baffled confusion.

What we like the sound of or belonging CV  might be pish with the squad or in the circumstances within.

I give up. I don't know at all who will be best for us and wouldn't want to be in ST's shoes right now.

I think tomorrow will see an outsider interviewed having heard some surprising shit today.

What "surprising shit" was that?? Do you mean you heard something new or just what's been discussed here?? Sorry to be thick but just wasn't sure what you meant by that.

And I don't know any more- my first choice was Tommy Wright (and still is) but I also fancied Jim McIntyre or shock horror- Paul Hartley. If Craig Levein could be tempted back, of course, I'd throw out all of them...but that ain't happening, is it??? That display at Firhill on Saturday was utterly grim, though, and I'm afraid any candidate will think twice before leaving a nice job in a nice place (Wright Hughes Hartley Levein McIntyre). And certainly wouldn't leave that till they knew what the future direction of the club was (ST make a statement, please) Oh dear....

The "surprising shit", is from a source supposedly good that I can't believe to be good enough to fill our heads with.

Don't want to start a rumour that's jumped on by fans and social media. If we interview this guy it will be out within hours of it happening. I rekon fuckall will happen with this. 50-50 at best but I'm not one for starting rumours.
Sure new names will be banded about over the international break that will again have betting suspended. Bookies must be raking it in.

Which I think is agent language for,"stop keeping my client hinging on eftur being one of the first interviewed and suffered a day oot in Edinburgh publicly looking keen checking oot the next opponents".

Story definitely fed to media by someone other than Mixu.

Don't even believe it for a second.
