Re: So it's Tommy Wright

Why would Wright not resign if he wanted our job?

If you cant see why Wright is the outstanding man for the job well that says a lot about your knowledge or lack off about football

^^^LIKE^^^  I just found this on line Plumber

The word “blunder” brings to mind another word having the same derivation, “blunderbuss.” A blunderbuss is a gun with a large mouth almost like a trumpet, and most people have probably seen it associated with the pilgrims chasing down turkeys on Saturday cartoons. In fact, in Cartoonland, when the hunter shoots a blunderbuss, it is more likely to take down the pilgrim not the turkey. Over time, the term “blunderbuss” has come to mean, not just a weapon, but the one who uses the weapon, i.e. a stupid, bungler. It shouldn’t be a surprise that I enjoy learning about words and hearing unusual words. Blunderbuss is one of those strong, emphatic words that “shoots” right out of your mouth, like poopsnagle or clodpate or balderdash or jabberwocky.

If hit with it by another Poster it's Game Over for that particular line. Harmless, yet effective hopefully!

Well done GC2!!!

Plumber you're getting awarded the Tangerine Broken Record for shouting off and not being able to back up yer hot air, bluff and pish with any evidence; or anything substantial.  Go to Mad, Go directly to Mad, Do not pass go, do not collect £200.

Re: So it's Tommy Wright

Silver I think you are seriously underestimating how shrewd a tactician Wright is.

Any manager that can have Anderson McKay Wright Croft etc in a team and win a cup and finish above us is worth his salt.

Stevie May was good but was hardly the reason they beat us most games and even after he left we still hardly beat them.

Wright is an organiser and that is a priority for us at this juncture

Prove you wrong on what?  You're the one not understanding how business works.  If you did you'd answer my questions.  They are pretty straight forward, but you can't/won't.  You're merely doing on here what you do on Mad, firing off rash statements.  All I'm asking is for you to back up what will constitute a feck up etc from the Chairman in your eyes?

Correct. Also has Wright ever failed to take ST J to Europe now you mention it. Also reckon he'd be a bit more expansive with the (arguable at the moment) more gifted players we have at Tannadice.

Re: So it's Tommy Wright

Where did I say I didn't rate him?

I said it's ludicrous to conclude that it's "catastrophic" if we don't appoint him.

Twisting words again.

FTR, I'd be more than happy if he was to be our new manager.

Re: So it's Tommy Wright

I don't know how anyone resigns from a position without knowing they've got the next job 100% wrapped up.

So is ST prepared to offer him a job without having sat down and talked to him? Dont think I'd do it if I were ST honestly.

Exactly Chainmail.  And as our Chairman is also an Elected Member of the Scottish Premiership on the Board of the SPFL, breaching protocol with another Premiership Club???  AYE GUID ANE!!!  FTR although Tommy Wright is not in my Top 3 of who I'd personally want, he'd get my backing.

Re: So it's Tommy Wright

Jeezo anyone would think it's a cold, wet Monday the way this threads went.

Let's just wait and see how it plays out.

Would be fairly happy with Tommy Wright but if we can't agree on him leaving St.Cuntsone then there are other candidates of a similiar standard (and some who require NO compo).

In this day and age there is no way we wouldn't be able to speak to Wright unofficially and sort things out incase he had to down the resignation route

To think we will not make contact is s tad niave, this is the big bad world!!

Ryan Dow wouldn't last one minute in a Tommy Wright team.

Neither will about half a dozen other players who are soft as shite.

Think he might just be the man to toughen the side up.

Not sure how it works Plumber if I'm honest.  If we don't get Tommy Wright, I won't go crying into my corn flakes though.  He's hardly Brian Clough and I think it's just as naive to think he's the only one who can save us.

Re: So it's Tommy Wright

According to the Mail ST is offering  him a long term deal and Broon has countered by offering him a new contract.

Win, win for Tommy it would seem....

Re: So it's Tommy Wright

Very skittish about offering him a long term deal considering we've just forked out 180k in comp to fire them muppets.  Why do you reckon he's sure enough he's found his man without speaking to him... or has he?

Re: So it's Tommy Wright

All gone quiet.

Are we gonna dig our heels in with ST J or move on to next target?

I say put the pressure on them until either Wright himself rules it out or Brown starts talking amounts for compo. If Wright puts it out there that he would like to hear what utd can offer, what's the betting that Brown trebles the initial amount mentioned. They fkn hate Utd.

Radio Tay apparently reported that Wright has agreed a new deal at St Johnstone.

Re: So it's Tommy Wright

I was listening to that there, i think the lassie misinterpreted what she was reading out. She said Tommy Wright has been given a new long term deal by the Saints instead of offered a new deal. Unless hes signed in the last half hour that is.
