Just another wee disclaimer before we start Gents.
I have picked players who would be regarded as forwards more than anything else.
So i've made the decision not to include guys like Ralph Milne and Graham Payne even though they did on occasion play upfront and scored a lot more goals than some of the other entrants.
Hope everyone is ok with that.
Because there are 64 entrants there will be (and there is) about maybe 3 or 4 players who folk will say 'He was a fucking donkey..thought this was BEST Utd striker?' etc etc.
Remember i'm only including post-fifities forwards and until the late 70's we only ever had about 4 forwards in our squad each season (and normally the same forwards season after season with maybe only 1 or 2 changes each couple of years),so garnering 64 forwards wasn't as easy as it sounds.
Anyway the cream always rises to the top as they say.....so on with the show.

Andy Gray not only by far the best forward out of the 4 but also the best footballer. But before my time.
Plus.......did he ever chip in a goal fae 30 yards oot for Utd at Hampden Park to help us lift silverware? No he did not *I still hope and fully expect him to get through this easy Round*.
Sergio brings back fond teenage memories particulary for his scintillating debut when we beat (a very good) Alex Mcleish Motherwell side 6-1.His mazey at Tynecastle was just sublime. It was a pity he encountered visa problems because i for one would love to have seen more of him in a Utd shirt.
Feeney was a pretty average player.Scored 2 good goals v either side of the Gruesome Twosome in quite quick succession.Celebrated like fuck when one went in...the other one you'de think there'd been a death in the family.
My vote goes to David Goodwillie.

Andy Gray for me. Never saw him for United but saw him for Everton. I think they won 4-2 vs Sunderland and he scored two diving headers, never forget it. I think one was always shown at the start of Grandstand.

If it's what they did for us it's Goodie, but if it's the best futba player, it's Andy Gray.....you decide the rules TEK!

Would love to say Andy Gray, but I have only seen him play for other clubs and was before my time at United.
So on that note, my vote goes to Goodwillie.

Love Goodie, but it's gotta be Andy Gray then. Completely fearless, proven and unplayable. Just like Big Dunc, but slightly less injury prone and with more winners medals.

Vaguely remember Andy Gray playing for Everton and moreso Deadco where he was past his best. Sergio was a cracking player but totally the right player at the wrong time (to think Mo Johnston signed for Falkirk at the same time, whatever you think of him if we'd signed him we'd have stayed up that year).
Everyone hates Warren Feeney because he was a Zombie rather than him being shite (which he wasn't, he wasn't great either mind you).
I'll go for Goodie then, cos from 2009-2011 he was absolutely superb.

Andy Gray's record and reputation (whilst you're down there Charlotte, ha ha) are the stuff legends are made of, having never have watched him in Tangerine due to only being a whippersnapper I have to go for Goodie.
Did Sergio not get a lifetime ban because he banjo'd a ref in Asia?
