5 games played at Tannadice thus far = ZERO wins

2nd bottom

1 clean sheet out of 8 games.

Only 8 goals scored in 8 games (2 penalties and 1 OG).

Just absolute PISH.

Arsehole fell out second half. Smith looks a real player just drops out later on, should have been out of sight at half time. Don't take yer chances get yer Arse felt

Re: DUFC v ICEY TEA - Saturday 19 September 2015 @ 1500 hrs

Started well and should have been two nil up but rankine blew it in the box, latter stages of the first half i thought was pretty scrappy but we edged it. The second half, no good enough!! Seen the confidence drain from the players from the stand!  We look like we are scared to pass the ball, constantly hoofing the ball up to Mckay? and we dont press teams nearly enough in the middle of the park. Fraser a standout.

Re: DUFC v ICEY TEA - Saturday 19 September 2015 @ 1500 hrs

Not got much to say.  Game should have been put to bed in the first half with Rankin missing a guilt edged chance.  Failed to appear for the second half.  Shame on those trying to start up the Jackie Out chants when we're one up first half.  Totally and utterly baffling.  Just as shameful and baffling is our managements inability to identify the trouble Tremarco was causing us running from deep and not dealing with it.  And don't get me started on falling for the old corner hit beyond the far post routine......

Almost every ICT attack in the 2nd half came down our right hand side. Mcgowan was constantly left with 2 players he got absolutely no help from Dow. When JM eventually took Dow off He puts Spittal on the left hand side and puts the tiring Bodul on the right. Bad management in my book. Fraser looks a better player than Celtics Christie. IMO

The worst result today, I'd say.

A win papers over the cracks, a defeat pushes things (surely) to the brink.

I think Yogi sussed us out by pushing his left back forward in the second half and bodul ended up tracing back and simply fading out of the game.

JM slow to react - I think the way JM sets out his formation works only if we overwhelm the opposition - if things remain tight the opposing manager reacts, changes things, generally to exploit the gaps we leave between defence and midfield.

Big problem now, compared with past seasons is that a weakened squad with no width is even more exposed to this than before.

So we are still shite at defending!!

What about closing the opposition down? How did that go?
Fitness any better?

I'd stay on that oil rig mate if I was you!  I'm so stoopid, I've bought a ticket for Tuesday and face another 150 mile round trip!  Glutton for punishment dot com!  To answer your questions:

Yes, as the Fermirz Corner does for us again.  We were totally vulnerable to balls played in behind us that had our defenders turning too IMO in the second half.

We did about one press on them as I recall midway through the first half but we're comfortably in the lead (and should have been out of sight).  And as myself and others have pointed out in the last few posts, Yogi made a tactical change at the interval getting their number 3 Tremarco to overload our right side.  Whilst we noticed that, it appears our Management either did not; or if they did they decided not to counteract it and this was our undoing.

Not in my opinion, ICT seemed angrier, hungrier and wanted it more in the 2nd half sadly.

Re: DUFC v ICEY TEA - Saturday 19 September 2015 @ 1500 hrs

Watched the full game last night and here's my thoughts.

First 14 minutes we played some fantastic stuff we really did. Dare I say there were flashes of the old Mcnamara side of the Gauld era? But it only lasted around 15 minutes... and then Inverness slowly started getting a foothold in the game.

The rest of the half was more even and scrappy, though we still created the greater (and only if truth be told) threat going forward and posed some terrific individual performances which I'll list below.

Fraser - So so skillfull.Caley couldn't handle him and had to resort to basically kicking him all over the park. He will need to bulk up and stand up for himself more because this may become the norm unless. What a player we could have on our hands though. Unbelievable dribbling ability and such quick and tidy feet. The goal we scored was ALL about him and his pass to McGowan (with three Caley players round him) was sublime.

Bodul - I said two weeks ago he had to start delivering and stepping up and I'm delighted he's starting to show what he can do. Reminicent of Ciftci and though he doesn't possess his physicality and burst of pace playing of the opposition defenders shoulder he more than makes up for that with his skill, dribbling, passing and work rate. He was so often back covering the left back position yesterday (we could play three at the back if he continued this) and helping Dillon out before he sadly tired second half. Really needs to work on his cardio but has the raw ability most definitely to be a handy player. What is his best position though? I'm thinking on the left of the three.Doesn't look like a winger or goalscorer really though so tough call on that regard.

McKay - Proper penalty box centre forward and one we've been crying out for. Also impressed with his work rate and if he gets service will score with regularity.

Those three we're by far the stand outs and should start when possible.

Now the negatives.

Dillon - Back to looking finished at this level.Slow and cheap in possession. Also a poor Captain in that he doesn't appear vocal or a calming steady influence on others.

Kuhl - Boy looks bang average to me I'm afraid and he is partly to blame for the equaliser in my book. Zwick manhandled him and literally sticks him onto the near post at their corner as he doesn't appear to know where to stand. What does he do? Runs halfway out as if they're taking a short corner (they clearly weren't) but then makes no effort to get back in position leaving Meekings with that whole side of the goal to aim at... infuriating and he deserved a rocket from his Goalie imo.

The rest - MEH

Though Rankin at least looked hungry and also put in just about the only tackle we made the whole match.Though his chance he missed at one nil was gilt-edged. So dissapointing and was a pivotal moment in hindsight.

Greater cardio and concentration required and we could start to turn defeats and draws in to wins.... though we've been saying that for seven months now Eh?

Dunfermline game will say a lot about how our season will go imo.

One last point. Our free kicks = deary me. Last player to score one?... Barry Douglas. Had two or three chances in excellent position's yesterday, all wasted. We should spend three afternoon's a week just working on these.

We did'nt! One thing that annoys me the most!..and when ICT started to close us down quickly we s##te ourselves and resort to hoofing the ball up the park.

Spot on, though Bodul cant pass! had 2 or three opportunitys for a through ball and the end product was woefull! He did out a shift in though.

Fitness wise JM had this to say in the match programme;

"One thing that has pleased me in recent games is how fit and strong we looked in the second half of games......With the GPS fitness devices the players have been using this season fitness cannot be questioned..."

In fairness I thought fitness was ok....the formation he sets out puts high demands on players and I'm never surprised when one of two flag during the game....especially from the three or four playing behind the CF.

Thought we finished looking stronger than Caley and the same I think was true against Killie.

Not sure what the GPS devices are or rather when they are used....monitoring how much ground is covered during the game?......or maybe they've got a job lot of old G4S monitoring tags set to go off if a player goes within 500 yards of Fatties....or Greggs....

Re: DUFC v ICEY TEA - Saturday 19 September 2015 @ 1500 hrs

Canna add a lot to what abodys been sayin. Disappointed yeah, but in a bit of a limbo about it. (I thought we would lose this TBH). There was no way we were gonna hold out for 90 mins we a 1 goal lead.

Best team for the first 20 mins then it all went mimzy. 2nd half was dreadful till about the 83rd minute, when we turned it on again. Tremarco had tremendous space down the wing, with only McGowan marking, and they took advantage of this by hoofing balls down the wing to him, leaving McGowan chasing like a phuckin chariot, noted for the Ben Hur smash at the end of the straight. Canna understand why Clancy let it go, because he was a useless chunt in the rest of the game. Booking a boy for bouncing the ba, but letting blatant deliberate handballs and the 2 footed ram on Murray go.

Fraser MOTM for me. McKay still the best player we have tho. Darko should some great skill, and has much promise. McGowan played well. Durnan a bit too risque for me with 1 on 1s near our box. Daddy Kuhl was average. Dillon looked out of place as predicted. Canna say a lot about Morris, apart from the good run he had in the 1st half thru the middle. Murray sped things up a bit. Spittal ?

Rankin was strong and an unlucky miss for me - pity more of the players hadna had a bash like him. Which brings me to Dow. Struggling or what? He certainly shouldna been on the 2nd half.

The GPS devices are for showing the road to goal. But mostly they malfunction.....

Tek, I don't think I would read as much into the Dunfermline game as you are.

I fancy it'll be comfortable for us to be honest with you.  Confidence builder for the players if we win, but it'll be no indication on what's to come imo.

It will tell us a lot about how the season will go because as i say if we can't see off (and comfortably) a 3rd tier side then there really is no future for McNamara going forward and he would have to be removed from his position regardless of the costs involved.

So in that sense Tuesday night will tell us a lot about how this season will pan out moving forward.

Will depend on HOW we win RRDH.

3/4 or 5 nil win and it could spark something in the team.

Guess we'll find out tomorrow.
