Who knows what Jackie's RTG will spit out team wise for this? If it was down to me though, I would not tinker too much from Saturday's starting line up. So just the one change from me (Dow out and Bodul in - nothing to do with the miss) and a minor tactical change. I also personally think Donaldson has been harshly treated and hard done by being left out and in the last two games and would also happily see him partner Morris. As Tangy has pointed out, Killie were allowed to get at our full backs one v one far too often ; AND we don't try and stop our opponents further up the park; AND Draper is normally allowed to monster the midfield, SO
.....................................Zwick......................................
McGowan.........Morris.....Durnan..................Dillon (if Dixon still out )
....................................Kuhl.............................
Spittal..................................................Fraser
....................................Bodul............................
.....................McKay....................Taggart
442 Diamond come 433 hybrid with Bodul to occupy Draper; and McKay and Taggart to stop Icey Tea playing it out from the back.

This way sound ridiculous I actually thought we were far to attacking and felt if we play that formation against better opposition we won't be giving them a humping they'll be giving us one!
Zwick
McGowan Donaldson morris Dixon
Kuhl. Souttar
Erksine/spittal. Fraser
Bodul. Mckay
I would play 4-2-2-2! Two defence mids in souttar and kuhl and two attacking mids with Fraser a first choice and tbh it could be anyone along side him. And up front McKay has to start and I though bodul was excellent when he came on Saturday, ciftci esque, I thought taggart looked good and will get better with matches!

Spittal deserves dropped he was posted missing the entire game, Dow actually did much better 2nd half.
ICT will be a much tougher opponent than Killie and also much more physical, we are a soft touch and we have committed about 10 fouls in our last two games.
We need dig...hunger...passion but when you see our manager on the sidelines completely un animated it has rubbed off onto the team.
I see us losing 1-3

Dinna let the truth get in the road of your rants.
Whilst not great, Spittal won our penalty. That's hardly posted missing?!
Does Dillon deserve dropped for that stupid tackle gifting them their penalty too?
And you won't see us doing anything on Saturday, coz you winna be there!

God knows what the team will be/should be.
I'd say Zwick,McGowan,Fraser and McKay are the only 4 players i'd have written down as starters if i were picking the side.
The other 7 you could pick at random (and it often looks like this is what happens).
Caley are a big physical side, who Yogi always has very fit, organised and hungry.
We will first of all need to match that hunger they show if we have a chance of victory.
Tullie reporting that McKay is an injury doubt for Saturday and hasn't been training.
Feel free to

I honestly thought Spittal was awful on Saturday and i was so pissed off with him when he lost possession and never bothered his arse trying to get the ball back.Dillon at left back is not the answer,we are struggling for width as it is and playing a right footer on the left just makes matters worse.

ZONE reporting that Dickers (hernia) and Squiddy (pubis) could be going under the knife.
But Mario's back in training.

Might be worth him giving Spittal a go at right back, would get forward to better effect than McGowan and would allow McGowan to play at CH - I think he would help steady things back there.

Who's left back if Dixon is still injured, or out long term? It's probably Dillon, isn't it?
Maybe got this well wrong, but hasn't Donaldson played there in the past?

I dont know what the answer is mate but its not Sean Dillon, nothing against the club captain BTW cos he has been a great servant to the club.I am more than happy to see him wearing the NO2 shirt and he fully deserves his testimonial for the great service given to our club.

This Egyptian lad we're on the verge of signing Sukar is supposedly able to play Left Back.
Whether he is anywhere near first team football is anyone's guess however.
I personally would prefer us just to go to 3 at the back and play a 3-5-2.

True G.
Don't know what the best solution is but the way things have gone it will be the Pharaoh or a surprise out of position player.

No idea what the team will be tomorrow, only Zwick, Fraser and McKay worthy of a start imo.
Like others have said, I would have Donaldson ahead of any other at CH, probably with Dillon.
Unlike others I'm still not convinced by Bodul and didn't think the other two loaners did anything of note last week.
Don't have a clue what the team will be and expect a defeat but hoping for a surprise.

I thought Taggart tired very quickly last week, while Kuhl looked decent, and one thing about him, he seemed a talker/organiser, at such a young age.
McKay and Fraser were both excellent, Durnan,Dow and Spittal struggled. Connolly takes too many touches for me, he appears too excitable on the ball. I don't know what team will take the field, but, although folk argued that the performance last week was good, we were up against a poor side, and gave them too much space.
I'm worried about this game, against a far better team.

Nail on the head, Killie were far from impressive yet we struggled to break them down.
The fans saying we were excellent etc are the super positive never say a bad word brigade.
Very stern test lies ahead tomorrow.

What about for tomorrow (3-5-2)?
...........................Zwick..............
McGowan.......Morris......Dillon
Spittal...Dow.....Fraser...Kuhl...Rankin
.................Bodul....McKay................
Subs -
McCallum
Taggart
Durnan
Souttar
Telfer
Connolly
Donaldson
For the benefit of those who don't get the Courier.
Better news on McKay - hopefully will make it
Dixon needs a hernia op - feels it's limiting his movement - might or might not play up to getting the op
Erskine out - osteo pubitis - going in for an op.

Whereas there are others are super negative and can't see the slightest positive. There has to be something in between.
As for the team, the fact that we are discussing formations and more than a few positions at this stage in the season is what worries me. We should all know by now how to set up the team with the players we've got and the only debate should be over a few positions where form is a factor e.g. left back
Online!
The team should be able to play a few different formations.
4231 is not something we can now play succesfully now.
We also don't have full backs who can rampage down the wing it would seem.
Let's just pick the best three defenders we have, forget over-lapping etc and tell them to 'defend' first and foremost.Swamp the midfield and start winning the battle there.
Then we might start slowly getting the better of teams again.

Zwick; McGowan, Donaldson, Morris, Dillon; Spittal, Kuhl, Souttar, Fraser; Taggart, McKay
IIRC this was the problem that hampered Scott Robertson during his time at Tannadice - I think he was out for about a year with this?
(and apologies to Arabugsy - hadn't noticed he'd posted on the injury update earlier)
