Liam was the coolest guy on the fucking planet in 1994.
Well him and Ivan Golac.

Never a massive fan of the Charlatans but probably my favourite song of theirs, also really like the Universal, but neither are Oasis.
Supersonic for me, one of my favourite Oasis songs.

Demons

As it's the song rather than the artist to be voted for, Blur - The Universal, for me, unusual time signatures and all.

Supersonic, no contest.

Four heavyweights of the genre for me. I was a fan of all at various points.
SFA are just head and shoulders above anything else that came out of Britpop though in my opinion. Beach Boys harmonies, early Pink Floyd psychedelia, Beatles-esque knack for a beautiful pop song and much more. All in one band! Absolute geniuses.
DEMONS.

The four of them were all great bands at the time. I saw the Charlatans at the Caird Hall in 97 and they were tremendous. I also saw the Furries at Fatties around 98 and it was fucking tremendous.

I'd had enough of The Charlatans by that stage. Didn't rate Telling Stories tbh. How High is a pretty weak single IMO

'The Charlatans' and 'Up to Our Hips' were both better. Crashin In was a great single.

Listened to the Charlatans today, How High wasn't the song what I thought it was, it was North Country Boy I liked.
Made a cunt of if that, like I said - big fan.
Still Supersonic anyway, carry on.

I mind seeing the Charlatans in Livingston of all places in 1995 I think. They were magic. Got a feely at the gig as well. Epic.
Can't say I listen to them much now tbh. Out of the 4 in this round the one I listen to most is the Furry Animals.

I was at both those gigs. Fantastic.
Furries PA kept cutting out as I remember? Had to leave the stage numerous times. Still blew the place apart.
Just checked the date - October 97. Decent guess mate...
