Watford's goal
Just watched it.
9 (NINE) Dundee Utd players in the box (including Zwick) and just 2 Watford players when Troy Deeney heads it in...IN ACRES OF SPACE btw.
I know it's just a friendly but fuck me have we in anyway worked on shape,stopping crosses,tracking the oppositions attacking runs,Goalie coming out to claim crosses etc etc.
Same goal we've lost since FOREVER.Players all switched aff and ball watching.
Depressing.

About 4/5 years now.
Last time it was decent was Cup winning season when Kenneth + Webster were CH's and Watson and Dixon/Dillon (who were at their peak) were Full-backs.
It's amazing what a vocal leader like a Wilkie,Webster or Dods can do to bolster a back 4.

I was really hoping that we would get to grips with our defending, play as a unit and STOP conceding free headers.

reserving all judgement for now until a few games into the season but if the above plays out it really does not bode well.
I'm more concerned with the lack of goals this pre-season to be honest. I gather these are just friendlies though against decent opposition. It really does boil down to either Darko or Muirhead needing to be the answer and I really dont know how either will pan out this year.
