Tek Towers 'Ultimate 80's Movie' - Round 2/Game 6

Thank you for the numbers and the kind words GF80, it's good to be back, I don't think my bank balance or my waistline could have took any longer!

Game 5, a new record for the longest game in Tekel Towers history, saw a big win for Big, and a shock exit for all the Star Wars geeks out there (I am crying on the inside) with The Empire Strikes Back striking out. Also a fond farewell to Das Boot, which I can't recommend highly enough, Auf Wiedersehen pet.

Round 2/Game 6

The dead know only one thing: it is better to be alive
Released: 1987
Director: Stanley Kubrick
Domestic Box Office: $46'357'676
Trivia: The production schedule for the film was so drawn-out that lead actor Matthew Modine (Joker) got married, conceived a child with his wife, the child was born, and then turned 1 year old...all during the course of filming.

The only thing in this world that gives orders...is balls
Released: 1983
Director: Brian De Palma
Domestic Box Office: $44'700'000
Trivia: Oliver Stone wrote this film while fighting a cocaine habit.

Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads
Released: 1985
Director: Robert Zemeckis
Domestic Box Office: $197'902'294
Trivia: Eric Stoltz was originally cast as Marty McFly and completed 5 weeks of filming. Director Robert Zemeckis and Producers Bob Gale and Steven Spielberg felt that Stoltz didn't capture what they had in mind for Marty, and felt things were not working out, and released him from the movie with his full contract paid. Casting Michael J. Fox and reshooting all Stoltz's scenes added another $3 million dollars to the budget. The only scene left in the movie of Eric as Marty McFly, is the scene when Doc Brown is shot by the Iranians, and Marty leaps into the DeLorean.

Why thank you sir. I don't think we are too different in our views about United, I just like to keep a positive outlook on things, in hope, or maybe desperation!

My vote has to go for Back To The Future!

I want to choose one of the others just to be different but afraid it has to be Back to the Future here too.

Eric Stoltz is a good actor.

Can't imagine anyone else playing Mcfly than Mikey J. Fox though.

Yes, i totally agree, Eric Stoltz is a good actor.

Michael J. Fox was still filming the TV series Family Ties at the time of Back To The Future, so they could only shoot his scenes later at night or in the evening during the week, and done most of the daylight/outside stuff at the weekends. He was only getting a few hours of sleep here and there for almost the duration of the shoot.

Re: Tek Towers 'Ultimate 80's Movie' - Round 2/Game 6

I would have been saying BTTF too, but I watch the Jaikit recently and it reminded me just how good a film it is.

So Scarface and Back To The Future can 'get the fuck off my obstacle' as Full Metal Jacket gets me vote.

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!
