Paul Paton

Wee rumour on Twitter Hibs want to take him on loan.

Might be bollocks right enough.

Re: Paul Paton

Wouldn't be surprised if we're trying to offload him.  Midfield badly needs reshaping.  Manager played Sneider in his position and rumour is terms are agreed afore that.

Edit to say - Did I miss a J in a Dutch man's I.D.?

Re: Paul Paton

I'd like to see Sneijder play a couple of trial games at least before were making any decisons about 3 year deals and him replacing Paton (who i don't think is as bad as folk make out) tbh mate.

Be surprised if this was true.  Feel like Jackie rates him too highly.

Re: Paul Paton

Paton performed best with creative players around him. Rekon Sneijder will have a more creative eye i think but will he learn to get in about the opposition Scottish style?
Have a feeling JMcM has made his mind up already  though.
For me change in the middle needs to happen bud. I don't get to choose how though. The more players in the better.

Re: Paul Paton

Aye 100%.

Never understood why guys dont like him. There was absolutely nothing bad said about him when we were playing well, same can be said about the rest of the players though, well apart fae Graham he was still absolutely shite, but Paton always gave his all, done a great job and get fucking in about it. Would not want to see him leave. Plus he punched fuck oot the berry picking tim

Re: Paul Paton

Paton isn't as bad as people make out, but we can still do better than him. If we moved him and Rankin on and replaced them with better players then fair enough.

Re: Paul Paton

Tbh I don't really want boys playing for us who batter fellow pros whilst on the pish and who gob on fellow pros. That coupled with the fact he is painfully limited and painfully slow. That thing he does where he does a 180 degree thing to get the the ball onto his 'good' foot is brutal to watch. It's like a HGV doing a three point turn but only slower. I was astounded that he got an extension last season.

He has had some decent games but these are usually against bottom six type sides. However, you could probably get someone who could do a similar type job who would be both better and cheaper.

Astounding that you can squeeze in a quick dig at Brian Graham in a Paul Paton thread J, and even mare Astounding that you can rate Paton as highly as you do. In fact, it's even mare Astounding that your reasons for liking Paton are because he assaulted some cunt, and gobbed on some cunt else. It certainly canna be for futba reasons anyhow, that's fir share.

Re: Paul Paton

Hunted has it spot on. The Rankin/Paton duo has always been overrated, even in McNamara's first season. His deep that midfield played was horrible to watch.

If we somehow got McGinn, that would be a pretty huge step up with him beside Souttar and would actually raise my hopes hugely for the season.

The punching of Zaluska was missing the smiley face and was very tongue in cheek. Suppose its hard to determine sarcasim and the like on a post. You certianly missed that. Never once mentioned him spitting on anyone, for the record did Hayes not also deny this ? Love a wee dig at BG now and again cos I know that it winds people up !

No one.  Both him and the alledged 'victim' denied it happened.

Re: Paul Paton

I'd keep him as cover honestly, even at right back where I think he can do a job.

I will be mortified however if he starts game 1 alongside rankin. Mortified.

Paton will leave this Summer. Rankin also a possibility.

Re: Paul Paton

Heard he's been on gardening leave since last season and will not play for the club again. Furthermore I know a guy who's read the "what ever you call it" report of the Paton incident and he's decked Zulska for signing rebel songs and called him an unsavioury name, next move Edinburgh... Doubt it, Edinburgh Rd more like.
