Re: DUFC U20's Thread

Utd v Accies (who are top of the table) tomorrow at Saint Andie's 2pm.

Wonder if the Brothers Souttar will finally play together in a match? And we might also see a long awaited return to match action for Bilate.

Utd official site says (incorrectly) 2-2.

Utd scorers for anybody that's interested were Aidan Connolly+Harry Souttar.

Will try and put up the line-up's when/if Utd put them up.

Hell of a risk playing Connolly in developement games IMO.Asking for trouble.

Re: DUFC U20's Thread

The thing is, the last 2-3 times he has played or came on as a sub for the 1st team, he's looked a bit off the pace and lacking in match sharpness due to being left out for long periods (inexplicably) and not playing for the under 20's either so its not a bad thing if he gets a few games there under his belt, provided of course it provides a quick path back into the 1st team for him.

Too much commotion

I've heard that as well, sadly.  Seemingly he's not happy that our academy laddies continually play second fiddle to young players brought in by the manager largely from Queens Park.  Only one academy player has made his debut from the start under McNamara (McCallum v Aberdeen).  The question I heard was "Are Spittal and Telfer really better than Scott Fraser?" Arabtrust seemingly unhappy that they are raising pots of money for the academy but the laddies are not really getting a chance.

FWIW, I don't really support what is being said.  You only have to witness Spark coming on last week to know that he is not ready.  Scott Smith was poor at Forfar and was sent back.  Darren Petrie (who I think was going to be given a chance this season) got injured and has been loaned to get him back up to speed and the fact he has been loaned to the Championship suggests that JMAC wants to see him at as high a level as possible with a view to his next step being in the 1st team for us next season.

Scott Fraser should get his chance next season too given we have lost the Timmy Twosome and are in need of a creative midfielder.  Jordan Moore needs game time after what he has been through and Adayemo is nothing like ready even if he has got a lot of good attributes.

Its still far too early for laddies like Harry Souttar, Coote, Montgomery and Ballantyne as well.

The only strange one as TEK and 'Bugsy have said was McCallum going back out on loan to Arbroath for the season for two reasons: 1.  Rado shipping goals and Szromnik being no better than McCallum and 2. Why such a low level as Arbroath and not 1st Div or Championship?
It seems like everyone is unhappy at the moment though.

Great appraisal and I know SC wants more game time for academy laddies, it's on the Zone, but:-

1. Is that such a big deal that he's willing to give up the post he waxes lyrical about, especially when you're not even supporting the premise?

2. I'm not unhappy.

Re: DUFC U20's Thread

Let's hope there's highlights and SC post match on the ZONE. Way the team reads the FBs have swapped (Sparky must be getting dizzy) and Chris McLaughlin must be playing left in a 451 or left of 3 in a 4231? 😕

Re: DUFC U20's Thread

Jackie as much as said that on azone the other week, feels Bilate can hurt Celtic and lead us all to glory.

Might have a stormer outta nowhere like De Vries in the last final.
