Re: DUFC U20's Thread

For me, he's been challenging this season but not always rated accordingly.

Re: DUFC U20's Thread

Ken what Bugs?I'm in a right cunt of a mood tonight (partly due to our asset stripping/partly due to a nasty chest infection) but i didnae like McCallum's tweet tonight.

'Delighted to have signed for Arbroath again'...really Mark?Really?

Happy to be 3rd choice to a dodgy no.2 who's not played 1 minute first team fitba and a no.1 who's making mistakes every game now?

Laddie should be delighted only if he's Utd no.1.

Smacks of lack of belief in himself imo.

Moore,Petrie and Ola all away on loan.

How many players we got oot on loan btw?Must be double figures.

Cull needed in the Summer.

Re: DUFC U20's Thread

You're right, TEK, all season we've basically been trying to keep two development teams happy in one fixture list, while occasionally giving game time to 1st team players. That's an impossible task and I would like to see a development team shadowing the first team, player for player in the same position, but with competition for every position from the younger players. This season, we've actually had young team/old team/mixed team/really mixed team and it's not conducive to development, individually or collectively.

Hate to say it, but a cull is required so we can see the wheat from the chaff.

Loan deals may be an aid to that decision making of who stays, and who goes.

Re: DUFC U20's Thread

Scott Smith has been a dissapointment.Three or four years ago he was as highly rated as Armstrong.

Just hasn't evolved as hoped it would seem.Think it might be over for him at Utd.

Re: DUFC U20's Thread

Yeah, Forfar punted him back because he was struggling.

Too much commotion

Scott Fraser impressing at Airdrie. I liked the look of him last year at Parkhead. Step up next year with Paton and Rankin performances dipping?

TBH, a year ago, I would've rated Jeeves well ahead of Scotty Fraser, but he seems to have stalled in development (really hope it's nothing to do with playing him LB against Usain Boyle in the wee derby at Gayfield ).

Meanwhile Fraser, who I thought lacked a goal threat, has been scoring for fun.

Funny auld gemme.

Edit tae add - first time I watched Fraser was when he came on as a sub at dense in the first wee derby for a lang, lang time and displayed a good few double drag backs in a resounding victory.

Re: DUFC U20's Thread

Now viewable, but the highlights are X-certificate.

SC's post match is superb, as ever, and it transpires the highlights may not be representative.

He then mentions us "hosting" Falkirk at Airdrie.

I'm on holiday next week and had planned to be at Station Park on Tuesday at 2pm, as announced on official website, to catch up on the dev team.

Checked SPFL site and I'm now not seeing them.

Re: DUFC U20's Thread

Checked the fishul website Bugs and apparently we're playing 'Falrkirk' next Tuesday in Forfar.

Sounds like Scandinavian opposition tae me.

Re: DUFC U20's Thread

Well spotted, TEK, but an obvious typo. I'm concerned with the Saints game at Station Park shown on our official as 13/3/15 in amongst the February fixtures.

Good news from SPFL site is I may see a dev game next week.

Re: DUFC U20's Thread

Sorry to hear big Marc McCallums mother passed away through the week but he still had the courage to play at Easter Road on Saturday and by all accounts had a very good game with some terrific saves. Proud of you.
Well done Jordan Moore who also continues to show remarkable courage in his personal life. His smile lit up Hampden twice as he netted a brace in a 4-1 victory over George Shields Montrose. Proud of you.

Re: DUFC U20's Thread

Was going to put up a thread about Jordan but forgot too.

Really smashing to see him doing so well at QP on his debut.

Sad news about big Marc's bereavement.Feel a complete arsehole for my previous post questioning his ambition now.

Far more important things in life than football.

Wish the big man well.

Just to clarify fixtures this week:-

The home game against Falrkirk or Falkirk tomorrow at 2pm is either at Station Park, Farfir as fishul or Excelsior Stadium, Airdrie as SPFL site and SC's comment.

The home game against Saints at Station Park, Farfir is either on Friday 13th February as SPFL site or Friday 13th March as fishul.

It would then appear I could attend 2, 1 or no games this week but the only thing I have any confidence in is SC's comment.

The young guys are on a terrible run at the moment and can't seem to keep a clean sheet.
