best day of your utd supporting life?
League winning day: I had a cup final to play next day at Bo'ness United's ground, and was warned to stay sober.
Somehow I finished at a party in Cumbernauld, and was stuck there when I should have been getting the bus to the match: my dad (told you he was a good man) came and took me through to the match. I lasted sixty minutes, and my team lost 3-0. I didn't give a fuck.
Quite right aswell mate

Hector NIcol. I like comedians, but have an old relation aged 90 who tells me she doesn't find comedy funny.
Great shout, Chic Murray?

Favourite ever goal scored by United Pat?
Favourite's different from 'best', eh?
Favourite would be Ralphie's late goal against Celtic at Parkhead in the league winning season: when that goal went in I think we all, players and fans, realised we could really win the league. As a bonus it was a Wednesday, so I was reasonably sober (work next day) and able to enjoy the goal all the more.

Thanks Pat, last question from me:
If you could change one thing about Scottish Football what would it be?
Referees would be more even handed. When I was around my early thirties, I was going to give up playing and try refereeing, but was advised that I should register with the Glasgow association if I wanted to progress quickly.
Kept playing, and stopped just under two years ago due to a broken ankle. (Hoping to get a match for my sixtieth next year )

What is the first thing you'de do if you won the lottery and bought Utd off of Stephen Thompson?First thing? It'd probably have to be a change of manager, as things appear broken now. But management is a game of luck to an extent, and I hope Jackie can turn things.
Don't do the lottery anyway, another form of tax.
Would you bring Pep in, if it was Euromillions?
I wouldn't be a good judge of manager, arabugsy!

worst player in a united shirt
Lots of candidates: I never took to Hasney Aljofree but he wasn't the worst.
Probably Julian Alsford or Darren Patterson.
I'll go for Alsford.

Managed to sneak one more in.
Pat if you had a spare million pounds to sponser on a transfer fee for a new player for next season who would you like to see play for United in this price range?
Thanks again for your time Sir

I have wide ranging tastes, but prefer brunettes.
It's a hard one. When I think of some brunettes! Have to think on this.

Evening Pat, I always enjoyed your comments and thoughts over at MAD over the years, and it was great to see you over here along with a few other posters who recently made it on over as well.
My United related question is, you had the chance to see wee Jim join the club right from the start till he went out swinging, but aside from his exit what is your most memorable McLean moment and did you ever have the chance of meeting the great man.
Non related question is, what is your favourite movie.
Thanks Pat!

I'm omniverous with alcohol.
I enjoy lagers, and although I can take any spirit, gin and elderflower is presently my favourite.

Blondes are a harder one for me.

My first season ticket was in the Jerry Kerr in the seventies with my Perth pals, but I've been everywhere. The Shed was great, I used to stand close to the back on the left side facing the pitch.
Presently in the cntre of the lower ET, great seat.

I like a variety, but a hiatus hernia has put paid to spicy stuff too often now.
Are fajita's exotic, I enjoy a mildly spiced fajita these days.

One million pounds. Times have changed, might not get a lot these days.
I'd spend it on Scott Allan plus new contract offers for Nadir and Soapy.
Is this allowed?

Mouth's watering at the thought of a fajita (unmild) but I think I'd be practicing bulimia if it was a way forward for spice intake.
