Tonight from 8-9pm we will be joined by the club's founding Father and first ever Manager ...Mr Pat Reilly.
Should be a good 'un.

Some information:
Firstly, a confession: I’m not really the founder of our club.............
From Larbert in Stirlingshire, I’ve never lived in Dundee, and have no family connections in the city. Next year I turn sixty, and have supported United since I was roughly ten years old.
Have seen all United’s cup wins and all the final losses, excepting the 1940 War Cup Final.
I used to spend huge amounts watching the football, not just United home and away, locally I’d watch Stenhousemuir and Camelon Juniors when I could, and for a time I went to all the home Scotland games too.
I won’t wear blue clothes, or write in blue pen.

Why united?
Evening bowers.
United's all black outfit and the Scandinavian players which they had when I was around 10 years old were appealing to a young lad, plus everyone at School was either Celtic or Rangers, which I was encouraged to avoid by my dad (a good man), so when I showed an interest in United he was happy to push me on, getting me some United stuff and taking me to nearby games.

Hi, stobiev: I'll mention more than one, if you'll indulge me.
60s: Finn Seeman was my first hero, as he was a winger. Ian Mitchell too (Mitchy oi, Mitchy oi, Mitchy Mitchy Mitchy oi oi oi) as he was local to me.
Early 70s: Joey Watson and Jim Henry (hairstyles as much as abilty, but they were great players), later on I'll say Luggy.
Eighties: Ralphy, and Hamish. I was going to call my first child Hamish, but my wife insisted that isn't a girl's name.
Nineties: Andy McLaren (!!)
2000s: Craig Conway
2010s: Nadir
That was hard!

I was only seven at the time, but felt exactly the same about that strip and the imports (I didn't have the OF distraction, so well done Pat on your excellent choice).
Your dad was most certainly a good man.

First thing? It'd probably have to be a change of manager, as things appear broken now. But management is a game of luck to an extent, and I hope Jackie can turn things.
Don't do the lottery anyway, another form of tax.

Maradona as a teenager at Hampden: I'm always told he was the best I saw, but it was a lovely sunny day in, I think 1979, and I had been drinking that day.

It has to be the eighties when I look back, for the quality of the player and the number of great European nights. Folk knew all about United, no matter when you went in Europe.
It won't be like that today, but that's not down to United, football and football coverage has changed.

Would you bring Pep in, if it was Euromillions?

Big music fan, over the years I'd list The Kinks, Pretty Things, Devo, The Damned, The Fall, Smiths/Morrissey and Julian Cope, off the top of my head. But I like reggae, some obscure metal stuff, and industrial music like Laibach.
Man, I like lots of different types of music, but I'm also a bit of a 'musical snob'.

Thanks Pat, last question from me:
If you could change one thing about Scottish Football what would it be?

best day of your utd supporting life?
League winning day: I had a cup final to play next day at Bo'ness United's ground, and was warned to stay sober.
Somehow I finished at a party in Cumbernauld, and was stuck there when I should have been getting the bus to the match: my dad (told you he was a good man) came and took me through to the match. I lasted sixty minutes, and my team lost 3-0. I didn't give a fuck.

Hector NIcol. I like comedians, but have an old relation aged 90 who tells me she doesn't find comedy funny.
