Sad fact is that ST knows his hardcore support is guaranteed and then budgets on that basis. Unfortunately, he's now depending on SC/JMac producing 1st team players for sale in months, rather than years. My belief is we're pretty close to the Hibs scenario but it has fuck all to do with the football management team. I've supported ST 100% until recently but can only see him now as the next Rod Petrie.
Edit, having said all that, next season's ST is paid, and I'm committing to the following season regardless.

You're right, easy to predict what's 'likely' with season tickets and he probably ken's that he can only do more damage than good by speaking right now.
He will be hudding his weesht until the last day of the season in hope of a positive end to the season and a miraculous rise from dispair.
Only reason to break the silence right now would be to offer something and any offer appeasing the fans would require a financial commitment.
Shhhhhhhhhhh!

Whatever happens with him it won't make a difference to when, where or how often I go.

Reading a book just now by the name of "In search of Duncan Ferguson" (decent read btw for arabs) and in one chapter it mentions Jim McLean earned £150,000 from the sale of Duncan Ferguson and through 3rd party it was to just reward for the pitiful wage he took home as United couldn't afford a good basic wage and it was all about incentives to boost your income and at the same time boost performance. Read into that the comparison to the current situation and share your views fellas

That was a one-off payment though Saint Ob,and not the norm as is the case with our current Manager.
Think for what wee Jim done for the club most wouldn't begrudge him that wee bonus.
The Jmac situation is totally different imo.

£4 million transfer was massive in Scottish terms in those days and Wee Jim was responsible for driving the fee up. Fair play to him I say. Wee Jim reared big Dunc from a wee boy. Totally different to JMAC.

Tek how can you be sure it was a one off payment. In wee Jims day supporters did not feel they had the right to know the small print of the managers contract. Did Jim get a cut of the Ray Stewart fee, The Kevin Gallagher fee i could go on. I did not give a shit then and I dont give a shit now. Im looking forward to the Aberdeen match thats all.

Jim McLean fought off and threatened other clubs and agents with violence if they even thought about tapping up our talent.
If he ended up with 3.75% of Big Dunc's fee then fair enough.
He would never have allowed our players to be sold to cup final opponents for absofuckinlutely sure! 🌋😠🔪💣

Just as well he didn't score in the Scottish Cup Final in 1994 then. For what it's worth the scout (and all scouts for United then and probably now) that recommended big spunk was entitled to 1/4 of 1% of any future transfer fee from United. Money changes hands in professional football like nobody's business and it has always been that way and always will be whether i agree with it or not.
Infact it's probably ruined it tbh
