Dundee Utd V's Motherwell - 13/8/14

Same starting 11 who put Aberdeen to the sword on their own backyard i hope.

If GMS has picked up an injury who would you like to see replace him on the left ?

Re: Dundee Utd V's Motherwell - 13/8/14

Son of Paddy is a ready made replacement after a transformational close season.

Perhaps not always from the left.

Re: Dundee Utd V's Motherwell - 13/8/14

Drop Nadir back and put Bilate In. Telfer and Connolly need experience first, their time will come when we move Amo and GMS on.

Re: Dundee Utd V's Motherwell - 13/8/14

I think i would put Nadir left and put Mario uptop tbh.

If that fails,Nadir uptop and wee Connolly on left.

Hopefully GMS is ok of course.

Re: Dundee Utd V's Motherwell - 13/8/14

My first game of the season after being in Perth on Sunday in the pissing rain! My last outing was the cup final so i need to get that out of my system and i am hoping for a 2-0 win. We had their number last year but the sheep had ours and look what happened on Sunday. Hopefully the boys are going to be more consistant this season and we will be 6pts from 6pts and still top of the league come thursday morning!!

We were pretty consistent IMO last year, debates! Took care of business against the likes of Killie and St Mirren which In years past we've struggled to.

Re: Dundee Utd V's Motherwell - 13/8/14

At times i agree Roger, it was a strange season looking back shit start, magic 6 or so games, then the debarcle in Perth (spunked a fortune that day on trains, booze and match) then we were murder again for about 5 or six games then we went on another great run before it fizzled out towards the end again.

Anywhoo onwards mate and hopefully 3pts tomorrow in the bag come 10pm

Re: Dundee Utd V's Motherwell - 13/8/14

I'm probably in the minority but I think Ciftci is a waste of a jersey unless he's the one up top, I don't think he works well as half of two up top as he's too greedy (and I know all good strikers should be gready) and I really don't think he offers enough playing in the three behind either.

Sunday was excellent and I hope the same 11 are fit, if not and GMS misses out I'd personally like to see Armstrong moved left and Telfer start behind Ciftci.

I fully expect it to be Mario or even Erskine after they both made an impact when they came off the bench but I really like the cut of Telfer.

Re: Dundee Utd V's Motherwell - 13/8/14

Watching the Well highlights from the weekend, I thought St Mirren were awfy unlucky not to get anything from the game, Created loads o chances.

Hopefully we can create a similar amount but take some of them.

Confident o this one coz they will mind we gave them somw hidings last season and no be looking forward to coming here.

Re: Dundee Utd V's Motherwell - 13/8/14

The Xmas run ruined us no doubt. The St Mirren and St Johnstone games cost me £60 (this getting In for 2 under 18's), brutal.

Ciftci should play up top or not at all, doesn't offer enough in the 3, do think he can play in a 2 up top tho.

If GMS is out, Erskine should start, was good on Sun and got a goal so deserves his chance.

I too think Erskine should get a start if GMS is out. Have been impressed with what I've seen from him so far, thought he was Utd's best player in the 1st half against Leeds and he was impressive when he came off the bench against Aberdeen.

Would go with squiddy too, mainly for goal threat, but Aidan is definitely ready to push for the GMS role.

Think he'll play more of a part later in season. Improved massively in the last year.

Great 2nd half performance, great support and a great strike to cap it off.  Plenty positives tonight fellow shed boys

Not a bad start to the campaign, on and off the park.

Can't wait to watch Mario's goal on the Zone again

and again
