Loved McInally, Gomis and Gallacher. Cameron was before my time.

McInally though edges it. One of my favourites. Great player a right hard bastard but a great player as well

Re: Dundee Utd 'Cult Hero' Cup - Round 1 Match 7

Kenny Cameron was before my time, but those stats DEMAND respect.Great figure of goals,83 (shedded oot his nut).He also of course as our Chief Scout for many years brought through many fantastic young prospects for the club.

I loved McInally and Gomis, two fantastic footballers who made our midfield's tick over the years.

I have to vote for GALLACHER though. He was my hero as a kid.He was an absolute whippet, still one of the fastest players to have played for Utd imo.His goal against Celtic in the '88 Cup Final was out of this World.I cried my eyes oot at Full Time that day,we were robbed,as per against that lot.His famous winning goal at Tannadice v Barcelona will forever be etched in the minds of every Utd supporter who witnessed it.

Was delighted to shake his hand outside the turnstyles at Parkhead on Cup Final day in May,where he was wearing a rather dapper retro Utd 70's top.

Re: Dundee Utd 'Cult Hero' Cup - Round 1 Match 7

KC, probably the best finisher (silver boot?), but not player, I've seen at Tannadice, but goals count.

Cannae believe I've no voted for Jim Mac or Kev.

TBH Jimmy was a great servant for us but well below the other three who are legends in different degrees.

Your slipping TEK, it's probably only the first time I've been able to limit the choice to three.

Gallacher.

Loved both Jimmy's in midfield, KC was before my time as well so have to go for the guy who scored arguably the most infamous goal at Tannadice.

V Barcelona, of course he meant it! ;)

Re: Dundee Utd 'Cult Hero' Cup - Round 1 Match 7

Oooooft, hard one to join the competition.

Cameron before my time so I'm rulling him out purely on that basis as it's hard enough.  McInally I love for many great years and particularly for the 94 semi replay goal against the Sheep but he pissed me off big style going to the Fun so I'm rulling him out.

Gallacher was fantastic and speaks so postively even now about United so he should get my vote but I just simply have to go for Jimmy GOMIS, I know he'll not get through but I pure heart him.

Re: Dundee Utd 'Cult Hero' Cup - Round 1 Match 7

Decent round again...kevin Gallagher was a great player for utd but I'm no sure about 'cult' enough to go far in this

Kenny cameron utd legend but never seen him play so got to pass

Wee jimmy gomis was deffo a cult hero but I'm gonna go for jimmy mac..100% grafter, never the most cultured but pulled on the shirt and was as important a piece of the jigsaw as anycunt rattling in the goals

True legends being deprived of their true status due to this board being populated by youngsters!

Re: Dundee Utd 'Cult Hero' Cup - Round 1 Match 7

Hard one, Cameron obviously a tremendous goal scorer and servant to the club, Gallacher, great player and that goal v Barca had me jumping on the touch line right next to Barca dugout, amazing night.

That leaves the 2 Jimmys, I'm gonna bail out with the legend/cult hero argument again.  Jimmy Mac was one of my faves growing up and in my eyes a legend., UEFA cup finalist and SC winner.

So Jimmy Gomis gets the vote as a cult hero, worth it for the song alone.

Jimmy Mac for taking the time to speak to my mates and me when kicking a ball round Fairmuir Park when he moved there after signing for United, quite a snappy dresser and his dogs had blonde tints in their hair also and never shat behind the goal at the Park Tool End. His missus was worth 1 in the bank 2

Hear their shout, hear their roar
They've probably had a barrel of ale and much, much more
Hooray, hooray, hooray, yeah
