oooof great match up...big stranglers fan but this not in their top 5 imho....favourite smiths track but not to go through...superb,iconic Ultravox tune but an older mate of mines fae stobie constantly reminds me how midge ure ruined them after john foxx left with pop pish...so west end girls for me, a brilliant track fae a brilliant album, which was about the only terrace album that the subculture of the time listened to, the only subculture not musically driven ever...the only other album possibly being London 0 Hull 4...which leads me to Tek..nae housemartins?...mon to fuck man!!!

Like all these apart from ultravox, never been bothered with it.
West End Girls is a fantastic song, video is also superb. Big Stranglers fan but as Stobie says, this is not in their top 5. Hopefully another Stranglers song will make it it.
Pet Shop Boys edges it for me.

As I said from the outset.
This is best 80's song Cup ONE... numero uno...the first.
There will be others.
No way am I making the first round more than 64 songs. Learnt to my cost on Mad it just goes on forever and people lose interest.
Takes me a good while to write each contest up also. After Round 1 I can cut n paste. Another reason I like a short n sharp tourney.
But there will be others. If youse play nice

Torn between West End Girls and This Charming Man. Gonna vote tactically and go for The Smiths to hopefully ensure they go through as well.
