The Zombies Friday Night Review

Spotted this on twitter, check Friday night!

Live football on TV this week: Your guide to all the action coming up in the next seven daysTelegraph Sport takes you through where you can catch all the football going on around the world in the coming weekTottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane is back in Europa League action Photo: AP By Clive Whittingham6:10AM GMT 24 Feb 2015  Tuesday February 24 Man City v Barcelona (19.45), Uefa Champions League last 16, first leg, ITV VM 103 / 113 HD, 19.30 Manchester City must be getting slightly paranoid that their ball in the Champions League draw has a bell in it. Having drawn Bayern Munich in the group stage along with Roma, now they have Barcelona. This follows last season where they drew Bayern Munich in the group and then... Barcelona. And the previous year when they had a group containing Ajax, Dortmund and Real Madrid. Chelsea meanwhile get Nordsjaelland, Shakhtar, Steaua Bucharest, Maribor and other such Countdown conundrums. Manchester United, before they decided to duck out altogether to the backing track of an entire nation's riotous laughter, used to find themselves paired with Scunthorpe United and Grimsby Town until the very latter stages for fear of Alex Ferguson kicking up a fuss. That's the nature of seeding, that's why the same teams get through to the Champions League knockout every year and that's why the protracted group stage before Christmas is a waste of time for anybody other than a club's bank manager. There's only one way for City to solve this – they're going to have to win some of these games. Starting here. Starting now.Juventus v Borussia Dortmund (19.45), Uefa Champions League last 16, first leg, Sky Sports 1 VM 502 / 512 HD, Sky Sports 5 VM 506 / 516 HD, 18.00 Borussia Dortmund have already started strengthening for next year's promotion push from Bundesliga 2 by forcing Marco Reus to sign a new contract through to 2019, presumably through threats of violence and kidnap if he didn't. That late run for the Champions League places looks beyond Dortmund now (third bottom, 15 points away from fourth) so this is the European swansong for the football hipsters' favourite side. They might be playing St Pauli in the league next year – the football equivalent of a Shoreditch wedding. Imagine how insufferable the crowd at that game would be.Others Man City U19 v Schalke 04 U19 (16.00), Uefa Youth League Last 16 Second Leg, British Eurosport 2 VM 525 / 526 HD, 16.00 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wednesday February 25 Arsenal v Monaco (19.45), UEFA Champions League Last 16 First Leg, Sky Sports 5 VM 506 / 516 HD, 18.00 Arsenal have also been a bit prone to pulling the draw nobody wanted from the hat in the tournament their yearly pursuit of fourth place rewards them with, but this year seem to have landed a plum tie.Wenger was the Monaco manager from 1987 until 1994 so expect lots of archive footage of him on French touchlines 25 years ago looking exactly the same as he does now minus the coat which makes him look like a giant millipede sent to devour the world. Also expect Arsenal to win after making heavy weather of a two legged tie. And keep an eye out for a partially interested Dimitar Berbatov, chasing back, hassling defenders, working box to box, outpacing full backs and the like.Bayer Leverkusen v Atletico Madrid (19.45), UEFA Champions League Last 16 First Leg, Sky Sports 1 VM 502 / 512 HD, 19.30 Atletico's 4-0 victory against Real Madrid in the La Liga derby match at the start of the month was an ominous sign as we move towards the business end of the season. Not so much a flash in the pan as a chip pan fire, Diego Simeone's team have one of the kinder draws as they seek to reach the Champions League final for a second successive year.Spotter's badge for anybody seen throwing items of kit at a linesman and then asking for it back.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Thursday February 26 Inter Milan v Celtic (18.00), UEFA Europa League Last 32 Second Leg, BT Sport 1 VM 547 / 549 HD, 17.30 When they actually let Celtic escape from the drudgery of playing St Mirren and Kilmarnock 17 times a season, they are capable of creating some special moments – particularly in Europe and particularly at home. The 3-3 draw at home in the first leg, having recovered from being 2-0 down after 13 minutes and 3-2 down at half time with a last minute equaliser, was typical of the genre. It's the second legs on the road that often cause problems for the Scottish side, although conceding in injury time to John Guidetti – who hadn't scored since the last weekend in November, a run of ten games that included two against Partick Thistle and two against Ross County – suggests that Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini's recent claim that his "patient was cured" may have been a little premature. It also means the second leg is far from a forgone conclusion.Fiorentina v Tottenham (18.00), UEFA Europa League Last 32 Second Leg, BT Sport 2 VM 548 / 550 HD, 17.30 An insipid display at home to West Ham at the weekend, rescued only by Harry Kane's 78th goal of the season after Sam Allardyce had abandoned everything West Ham were doing well in favour of sitting deep and hoping that time ran out, has sparked fears that Spurs may be tiring at just the wrong time. They have a tough second leg here against Fiorentina -fifth in Serie A, three points off third - having drawn at White Hart Lane backing quickly onto the League Cup final on Sunday. They then have Swansea at home in the league three days after that and a trip to QPR that Saturday. The pursuit of domestic and European cup glory along with a tilt at fourth spot looks a tall order for a side that, for all its recent improvements, relies solely on one wide eyed/mouthed 21 year old for the vast majority of its goals. A big ten days for Mauricio Pochettino starts here.Others: Besiktas v Liverpool (18.00) UEFA Europa League Last 32 Second Leg, ITV 4 VM 118 / 175 HD,17.30 Feyenoord v Roma (20.05), UEFA Europa League Last 32 Second Leg, BT Sport 1 VM 547 / 549 HD, 20.00 Athletic Bilbao v Torino (20.05), UEFA Europa League Last 32 Second Leg, BT Sport 2 VM 548 / 550 HD, 20.00 Everton v Young Boys (20.05), UEFA Europa League Last 32 Second Leg, ITV VM 103 / 113 HD, 20.00-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Friday February 27Falkirk v Rangers (19.45), Scottish Championship, BT Sport 1 VM 547 / 549 HD, 19.30Our weekly chance to check on what chaotic nonsense has befallen Rangers and what havoc Mike Ashley has managed to wreak north of the border in the last seven days carries us to a Friday night in Falkirk. Inevitably all the coverage, and most of the crowd, will be interested in the UK's most farcical club (settle down fans of Leeds and QPR, you've got nothing on these guys) but spare a thought for Falkirk who used to yo-yo up and down out of this league quite a bit before they suddenly found Hearts, Hibs and Billy Smart's Travelling Circus joining them at the second tier.Currently fifth, Falkirk have a great chance to claim a famous win here given how abysmally Rangers are playing football, conducting their business, tending to their gardens and everything else besides.Marseille v Caen (19.30), French Ligue 1, BT Sport Extra VM Red Button, 19.30If you've missed the brilliance and insanity of "El Loco" Marcelo Bielsa since he left his free-rampant Athletic Bilbao side in 2013 then fear not, here's a chance to see his new team Marseille, currently second in Ligue 1 and two points behind Lyon at the time of writing.Bielsa - he of the three day press conferences, five hour video sessions and obsessive compulsive approach to football scouting - has seen his side lose to lower league Grenoble in fantastical circumstances in the French Cup and win only four of eight league games to drop off the pace. But a Bielsa team is never dull, and the Argentinean is worth watching on his own.OthersMelbourne City v Adelaide United (08.40), Australian Hyundai A-League, BT Sport 1 VM 547 / 549 HD, 08.30Bayern Munich v FC Cologne (19.30), German Bundesliga, ESPN VM 529 / 530 HD, 19.30 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Saturday February 28West Ham v Crystal Palace (12.45), Premier League, Sky Sports 1 VM 502 / 512 HD, 12.00Big Sam’s Big Fat Brand of Entertaining Football lasted only as far as one FA Cup thrashing at West Brom and speculation about his impending contract expiry. Now, for a sizeable, vocal section of the travelling support, he’s public enemy number one again. His side were very unfortunate not to beat Man Utd, and then held Southampton to a draw despite finishing with nine men, before the 4-0 set-back against Tony Pulis’ side but the Upton Park faithful need little invitation to turn on their manager – they even booed them off at half time in the replay win against Everton in the round before. A parting of the ways feels inevitable this summer, no doubt with mumbles and grumbles about injuries and fixture congestion which, naturally, only affect Allardyce’s teams.Pards Pardew knows how he feels after his time at Newcastle, but his honeymoon period with the Palace fans is threatening to extend into a permanent emigration to a sunshine island, skipping happily along in the surf all linked arms and frames with no lenses. To be fair, the regulars down at Selhurst Park back their team noisily in good times and bad through the medium of topless 15-year-olds jumping up and down with their arms round each other while waving home-made flags.Eastleigh v Macclesfield Town (12.45), Conference, BT Sport 1 VM 547/ 549 HD, 12.30Domestic and European cup competition commitments mean rearranged fixtures which, in turn, makes TV scheduling tricky. So expect a few anomalies like this where BT Sport’s usual Saturday lunchtime Premier League action is replaced by a game from the Vanarama Conference. Not a bad one though. Macc Town are, along with Bristol Rovers, slowly eating into the substantial lead Barnet established in the early months of the campaign as Martin Allen’s seventeenth stint in charge of the Bees started with a bang. They’ll have all with the long trip to Eastleigh though as they currently sit one place outside the play off zone. Efe Sodje is the recognisable face in John Askey’s Macclesfield side but it’s Matthew Barnes-Homer top scoring. Eastleigh, managed by Richard Hill, are getting traction from picking up experienced midfielders and attackers coming towards the end of their careers – Jack Midson, James Constable, Brian Howard and James Constable will all be known to Football League regulars.
LMAO

We don't give a damn what the others say
We'll cheer on United all the way
For we are the Terrors of Tannadice

Re: The Zombies Friday Night Review

This persistant zombie sh1te on a Friday night reminds me of a TV programme that used to be on in the late 60s/early 70s late on Friday/Saturday night called Don't Watch Alone.

Re: The Zombies Friday Night Review

Although their take on Der Hun is pretty spot-on it still rankles me a wee bit that they put the boot into both that game and their comment on the Celtic game mentions 'the drudgery' of playing St.Mirren and Kilmarnock, yet they somehow talk up the game in the English Conference between the mighty Eastleigh+Macclesfield.

Sick of english hacks putting the boot into our game up here and talking up their (over inflated) product.
