Dundee Utd v St.Johnstone - 21st February 2015, 3pm

We simply MUST win this game if we have any ambitions of top 3+europa qualification.

IF everyone's fit the team has to be for me.....

..............................Czierniak.........................
McGowan.......Morris..........Fojut..........Dixon
.......................Paton..........Butcher...............
..............Connolly.....Telfer.....Ciftci...............
.................................Anier..............................

Subs -
Szromnik
Rankin
Bilate
Dow
Dillon
Erskine
Spittal

That is the team with the most pace and energy imo.

I normally agree with most of your thoughts on team formation etc but i think Telfer's wasted as a holding midfielder. He doesn't press the opposition as much as required in that role either.

Get him further forward there's goals fae midfield in the kid.

Nah, him and Butcher are a great partnership. Have we lost with them?

Re: Dundee Utd v St.Johnstone - 21st February 2015, 3pm

I dunno.

Butcher is first name on the team sheet for me these days.

Love his tenacity.

I'd play wee Charlie in the 3 personally. He never quite dictates the game playing deeper IMO.

Plus him and Connolly seem to link-up brilliantly and know each others game.

Telfer's best games have been from deeper. St Mirren, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, Hamilton and when he changed the game away to Partick Thistle.

He's hardly played further forward. When he did, he was pretty meh.

Telfer/Butcher for most home games and some away games is the way. We don't need Paton against a work man like team.

Would agree with Butcher having a place, especially against them, but when he plays mid it ends up 4141 (which is a good thing) so Paton is best for a single DM.

Generally Tek's team for me, but with a 3 sided coin toss up for Dowser, Squiddy and Aid.

Or I'll trust JMacs judgement on them as the week progresses.

This one is interesting, would normally think having Dowser, Telfer and Connolly in the same starting line up would leave us lacking on strength BUT i reckon this is maybe the way to approach a game against a harder working outfit. Zip about them and let them chase shadows

It won't be the team now because of injury, but Ciftci, Morris, Fojut, McGowan and Butcher are all huge laddies which make up for it.

If anyone has any desire to torture themselves the game is on ALBA.
