The opening game of the Tek Towers Song of the 80's 1 saw a resounding victory registered for SOFT CELL'S cover of 'Tainted Love'.It will now progress through to Round 2 as a seed and joining it in the 2nd Round (albeit unseeded) will be 'Straight Outta Compton' by NWA,which finished runner-up.Eliminated at the first hurdle are 'Give It Up' by KC+The Sunshine Band and also 'Jump' by Eddie Van Halen.The latter registering the dreaded 'Nul poit'.

Echo and the bunnymen, can still see them hop around Edinburgh Castle pre Blonde unlike a rabbit in the headlights. Superb performance on a par with Ernest Els at Muirfield the same year

bunnymen...brilliance...have been right into them of late again
the associates...legendary 80s track...what a voice..local hero
madness..fav growing up..never get the recognition they deserve in polls imho
bowie...well what can you say...someone who deserves mair kudos than the beatles imho
if i was to vote for what i like now since i've got older and bought a huge record collection and appreciate things more then madness would be down the bottom of that 4...but i'm going for my favourite of that lot at the time...embarresment
