Do we have rumoured teams, fees etc?

Assuming ferry is gone, do we think we will see any other players in or out?

From memory there was interest in eskesen, bert and graham at one point.

I reckon eskesen is 99% gone, especially with the arrival of yoro. Don't think rosee or bert go anywhere unless we speak big money.

Do we get a back up left back? I'd like to see us get another cb too. Forbes looks solid and bert look decent in the new shape but would like to have 2 reserves who are capable of playing

I see where you are coming from but playing well v rangers hearts and celtic could very well tip a team over the edge into making an offer or a bigger offer.

The Czech deal had a fair few add ons I believe and the 1.7m isnt guaranteed- it was all paper talk - so hopefully scope to get the best deal possible

Reading comments above and looks like i see some things a bit differently to others.

I'm really happy with last night especially when you put the match in context.

We were playing against a manager who came a very close 2nd last season who is also loved by the huns and making his debut. A team who have spent 16.9m quid according to transfermarkt this off season.

The whole game was set up to be about them and most outsiders would be expecting a 4 nil or something similar.

What we did was run, compete and test them for the majority of the game and other than a 15 minute spell, looked very good.
Our goal - maybe a lucky finish but the lead up to the goal was excellent. There was hard work, skill and determination- all things we want to see.

There goal - slightly unlucky but cant take away from a terrific bit of skill by assgaard.

Don't think 1 player let us down. A lot of chat about rawlins and think he did an ok job. He kept a 2.5m player quiet. Could do more attacking but also a change in formation will see things change.

Super positive. The thing I really liked was mcinnes mentioning our forward 3 and saying how much they gave them issues with our movement and closing down.

We are not the finished product but a bloody good start.

Need to keep these performances going for a midweek in killie etc.

Jerry, more of a general point and not directed at you in particular but theres a lot of bad feeling for ogren.

From my point, it feels like people are upset that hes no longer wanting to let the club run up debt and wants us to live within out means.

Looks like you cant win. Thompson was slated for sitting in a coffee shop while the club went to the dogs....now hes being held up as a bastion on how to run the club.

This isnt the place to defend the club - because it was an awful performance but what has ogren done to deserve such venom. Nothing he does is seen as good.

All I can see was over paid for united thanks to tony, then tried to deal with the fallout which involves making the club support itself.

Yeah, he doesnt live here but i don't understand it

So jerry by your reckoning, people who supported the club don't have a right to complain. Its only people like yourself who have not invested in the club in the form of season tickets who can.

I think he left that position. Definitely introduced himself as a 'scout'

Think that's particularly harsh on the fans.

We're united supporters faithful through and through..... can be changed to we're united supporters faithful when its good.

Thought forbes looked assured and 100 times better than captain disaster.

What i don't understand is why so many times, we had forbes playing the ball into the box. With the greatest of respect to him, precise deliveries are not a centre backs forte.

To not score any goals from open play against a league 1 and a league 2 side is not a good look. Tbf a hybrid of our u21s and first team should be seeing off that level reasonably comfortably.

Players didnt seem to know their positions- often trying to play in the same area. Playing folk out of position didnt help either.

Marked improvement needed really quickly.

Alan Temple said on their podcast that we were actively looking to bring in a left back.

We've signed a bucket load of players the last few summers are rarely left ourselves short in any positions. What makes you think we'd just settle for a right-footer who has barely started a handful of games for us?

Also, not sure he's had anywhere near the amount of minutes on the pitch to form a proper opinion on him. From what we've seen he is comfy on the ball and has a decent turn of pace. Regular Finland U21 international and was close to playing at the WC with Iraq. Don't understand why we talk down young players like that who could have a real impact if given the chance.

There's also the whole CLASH with Ferry thing to consider

Should he stay or should he go now

I have heard he has made it clear he wants to leave. Best thing for everyone is to get things sorted asap.

Still dont think theres any rush. United wont be sitting on their rears. They will have identified replacements for him and be ready to go, i'm sure. I'd rather get the right deal than a quick deal

A cup wins a cup win but this is way behind the scottish

Devalued by removing euro qualification
Devalued by making it pre season
Devalued by teams being nowhere near finished articles
Devalued by making it so early in the season. Teams arent ready, fans are on holiday.

And as a side note, ruined the more exciting bits of pre season at home and on tour.

I'm not usually one to be overly critical but its piss. Only means something from semis onwards.

The clubs comms are pretty poor, eh.

5 posts about what is, with respect to the lad, a back up goalkeeper signing and 1 post about our first pre-season match with new players and others stepping up.

Line up, goal scorers and a few lines would not hurt, albeit, sure they dont want to give away what they are training on

6ft 6, knows the league and wasn’t too bad at County. Happier with that than Dave Richards anyway.

Don't remember him particularly - so no idea of good or bad....i guess solid enough. To be a right moan, I'd be keener to get first teamers signed up but guess that's not how transfers work.

The a league players have been signed for ages and seems to have gone quiet.... forbes tait and walton may be solid but dont excite me.

Ps is forbes interviews about being a leader etc a precursor to graham being off?

Again battling st johnstone for a player which makes you wonder if they have upped their scouting game or if ours isnt so strong

Following on....1.8m is not a huge fee for a championship club. Plenty pay way more than that.

And why spend 1.8 now rather than wait? Because hes got a lot of interest - theres no saying he would sign for you in 6 months.

It's not even July- let the club work this out. Plenty time before this becomes an issue

I love will ferry for united but love united more. I think if he wants a move away, then he should show the club respect. Although this is all based on hearsay, I think it should be generally accepted that he should show respect to the club who gave him the platform to shine. Without united, he wouldn't have played in Europe. Wouldn't have played v teams like rangers and celtic and maybe wouldnt have gotten to represent Ireland at international level.

Equally with player contracts, its a 2 way thing. United promise to pay him in return for his best efforts for the club. If either party wants out of the deal, it has to be beneficial for both parties.

Also sure I heard on ben fosters podcast how players get paid in a transfer - if for instance they get a free transfer, then the player expects a slice of the 'saved' fee. So is it ferry pushing for a low fee to ensure a bigger cut for himself?

Time will tell but as good as hes been for united, united have been good for him and I hope that we get to a stage where everybody is happy. It'd be a shame to tarnish his legacy as a united player
