You can't win football matches without a midfield. 2 CM starters need to be signed or this is going to be a season long relegation battle.

Goodwin is saying that most Scottish clubs can't compete with the English 5th tier when it comes to wages.
A 3k pw player is going to pay roughly 3k extra in income tax for playing his football on this side of the border.
Expect signings from further afield.

Sebastian Coe. Apparently very arrogant an an ex Tory MP so he usually gets ignored in these conversations.
However World 800m record holder and No1 in the world for the best part of a decade.

It remains tangerine and black. That's all that I'm interested in.

My recollections of that game are similar to what Malpas said. We were well beaten on the night by the better team , nothing to do with dodgy/corrupt refereeing.

I had seen us lose the previous six Scottish Cup finals. + hardly missed a home game in that 20 years.
Very like Canadian but not so far had moved out of the country late 1992 and was unable to get a ticket for final.
Felt a bit robbed about that and still do as I think about it now.

RC for me.

Bang on , keep plastic pitches out of full time football.

Good match that, a couple of stramashes.
VAR would have destroyed it.

I'm just hoping that people stay off the pitch at the end.
We all know that this is not one of the major trophies that we've won.
However if the trophy is not presented on the pitch there will be no footage or photographs of the occasion to look back on and a bit of history will be lost forever.
I'm a fair age have never seen a trophy presentation at Tannadice and may never see it again.
STAY OFF THE PITCH

If its the strongest available team Gallagher is definitely better than McClelland.

Gallagher was excellent before his injury, thought he was quite poor in the few games he played afterwards before McClelland came in.   McClelland has the shirt and does not deserve to be dropped IMO.

Agreed Slateford.

Gallagher struggled a bit when he was carrying an injury around february/ March agreed. But up until the new year he was my player of the season.
McClelland has done OK but no more in my eyes. He won't be a success in the top league as he is too slow.
Looks like I'm in the minority here but I'm 100% convinced Gallagher is a better CH than McClelland.

Eight of the starting XI are out of contract after next Friday. Ten out of contract players played played tonight in total.

Players post-match talking about 'partying' again.

Is it just me who thinks this is overkill now? They have 6 weeks to rip the arse out of it.

Hard weeks training and intention on putting on a performance worthy of Champions vs Thistle on Trophy night should be the focus.

Kinda speaks volumes for me about some players attitudes. The top players party when the job is done. Fully done.

This is spot on. Disrespectful to all the brilliant supporters who have paid good money all season travelling to support the team.

the support last night in the stands was magnificent nobody really gave a fuck about the game it was all about winning the title

I was caring about the fame, that's why I went.  In the car and on the way home by the time the pitch invasion started

A performance that looked like they had spent the week on the piss.

Walton 9
Thomson 2
McClelland 3
Graham  6
Mcmann 4
Sibbald 2
Mochrie 1
Tilson 2
Wotherspoon 3
Middleton 2
Watt 2
Fotheringham 0. 5
Moult 3
Mcleod 4
Grimshaw 3

Hopefully something resembling a bit of effort for next week's trophy presentation.

What we need is physicality tactical no how and top league experience.
Get that and we will do alright next year.

Great scenes at the FT whistle.
Not up there with winning one of our 5 majors trophies but also shouldn't be looked down on.
Even I'm not old enough to remember the last time we won the 2nd tier at Tannadice.

A very timely return to form and its clear to see the confidence in some players. Middleton & Fotheringham in particular.
However its still far too early to start talking about when & where the title will be won.
At the moment this appears unlikely but by the next time we play the lead may only be one point.
