Dundee Utd v Qots - Tuesday 20th March

Need to win this and win it well or Csaba can and must get right to fuck.

Re: Dundee Utd v Qots - Tuesday 20th March

If Csaba can just put out a team where players play in their natural positions and have a unified purpose instead of this "eh...lets play quinn in CM" positional lottery crap and start to play the ball out our own half a lot quicker instead of this sideways/backwards, self harming (as was perfectly described on another thread) style of play,  would surely increase our chance of winning. Remember chatting to John Holt and he mentioned that Wee Jim gave them 5 passes to get the ball out their half and into an attacking position or he would be having word with them,  As Csaba would say " This is what i want."

Agreed, he’s the biggest problem in our team in way we play, he’s all over the place.

Re: Dundee Utd v Qots - Tuesday 20th March

For Deniz To get a sniff of first team action would require Lewis to be sick or injured , but Lewis needs to be dropped he has next to no confidence and zero distributional skill and can.t kick worth s**t, McKinnon took a gamble bringing him in and to be fair he started fairly brightly, but has been steadily getting worse (not helped by our shambolic back line) but Mehmet needs to be given a chance. imo

I don't think wee Jim's team ever needed 5 passes to get out of their half. If 5 was the target, they made sure they got there in 2 or 3

Re: Dundee Utd v Qots - Tuesday 20th March

I would drop Robson, Lewis and Quinn before Flood tbh. He played really well against Qots last week and there's no-one else in the team with his engine who can run about the entire 90 minutes. He does have to keep his position more often though, of that I agree with. He is trying to do too much imo. if he keeps his position and keeps his game simple he can still be effective in this league.

The team I would like to see (but probably won't) would be.

.......................Mehmet.....................
Ralston...Durnan.....Edjenguele....Scobbie
King........Stanton....Flood...McMullan
............McDonald...Mikkelsen......

Subs - Lewis, Robson, Smith, Quinn
           Fraser, Gillespie, Slater, Lyng

Re: Dundee Utd v Qots - Tuesday 20th March

Tek, unfortunately Harry and Robson not going to get dropped.........Quinn’s a gonner I think, Flood needs replaced with a player who knows the position and can play a big part in running the team, controlling the midfield, being the boss etc, running the centre of the park  ...........not just running about the centre of the park doing feck all, he’s finished .

Time to be positive, 3 4 3 or 3 5 2 and get forward ....goals win games !

If Briels was fit I would play him ahead of Flood tbh. As I think him and Stanton formed a good understanding at the start of the season. But he still seems nowhere near returning (if he ever will?).

Don't rate Slater or Gillespie at all. So for the time being I would have to opt for Flood by default.

Re: Dundee Utd v Qots - Tuesday 20th March

.                                LEWIS

RALSTON       DURNAN  EDGE             SCOBIE

KING         FRASER    STANTON  MCMULLAN

                MCDONALD  MIKKELSON

I'd think defensive set up might depend on wether Dobbie is fit again. Want to see Matty Smith play again for at least 25-30 mins. Hard to drop Big Mik after scoring in consecutive games but want him to play more to his strenghths than trying to win fouls.

If Fraser can start and get us going in the right frame of positive mind set and play I'd rather have that that and give him the 1st 45 mins.

Lewis

Subs. Mehmet Edgenguele Quinn Fraser
          Smith Gillespie Flood Mohsni (?)

Fraser gets 30 mins regardless of score, for either Slater or McDonald.

Csaba saying we targeted Ralston in January but couldn't get him at the time.

Darren Taylor taking his signing advice from Tekel Towers? 😂😂😂

Without being callous, i'm not dissapointed in that news.

Would give Scobbie a try there.
